I take a warm, collaborative approach and tailor therapy to each person’s unique needs. A big part of my work includes helping clients better understand and relate to their emotions through mindfulness, emotional regulation, and self-compassion. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel safe to explore, grow, and build the tools you need to navigate life.

Outside of therapy, I’m continually learning and growing so I can provide the best care possible.

Why I Do This Work

I’ve always been drawn to helping others feel seen, heard, and supported — especially during seasons of life that feel confusing, overwhelming, or uncertain. I know how easy it is to feel like you have to hold everything together on the outside while struggling internally with anxiety, pressure, or self-doubt.

I became a therapist because I believe in the power of safe, supportive relationships to bring healing and growth. Therapy isn’t about fixing people — it’s about creating a space where you can slow down, explore what’s going on beneath the surface, and begin to shift the way you relate to yourself, your emotions, and the people around you.

Whether I’m working with a teen navigating school stress, a young adult figuring out life after graduation, or a couple adjusting to a new stage in their relationship, my goal is to walk alongside you as you build self-awareness, learn practical tools, and feel more confident in who you are and where you’re headed.

Welcome to Paxwell Child & Family Therapy!

Hi, I’m Ellie — a therapist who’s passionate about helping people feel more confident, connected, and understood. I work with preteens, teens, college students, and young adults as they face the unique challenges of growing up today — everything from anxiety, low mood, and emotional ups and downs to school/career stress, social struggles, and life transitions.

Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just need a space to process what you’re going through, this is a place where you can show up exactly as you are. Together, we’ll build tools for emotional resilience, healthy relationships, and greater self-trust — one step at a time.

How I Can Support You

Whether you’re a young person struggling with big emotions or a parent seeking support for your child, I’m here to help. Together, we’ll work toward healing, growth, and a greater sense of clarity and confidence.

Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. I take an integrative approach, drawing from evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, mindfulness-based strategies, and attachment-focused, relational techniques to create a plan that fits your unique needs.

With pre-teens and teens, I use developmentally appropriate and engaging methods to help them better understand their emotions, manage anxiety, build emotional regulation skills, and grow in self-confidence.

For college students and young adults, our work often centers around developing healthy coping tools, navigating anxiety, managing academic/occupational, social, or performance-based stress, building confidence, and improving communication and relationships.

For young couples, I help partners strengthen emotional connection, improve communication, and adjust to new seasons in their relationship—whether you’re dating, engaged, or newly married.

Throughout our work together, I’ll tailor sessions to your personality, preferences, and goals.
